NATURAL DURABILITY
Wood susceptible to the action of staining fungi. In the laboratory, it showed low durability to rotting fungi and termite attacks. Considered susceptible to attack by termites, marine drillers and wood driller (genus lyctus).
WORKABILITY
Marupa wood is easy to work. Easy to saw, plane, nail, screw and allows a good finish. Easy to put on. Require the use of high speed and sharp knives.
APLICATIONS
Internal lightweight, general utility: cords, trim, skirting boards, lining, wainscoting and furniture
Other uses: frames for pictures, musical instruments or parts thereof, broom handles, sticks, plywood sheet, decorative blades, clogs, sporting articles and toys, packaging, heels for shoes, funeral urns.
